Well, I have been neglecting my blog I am afraid. A busy few weeks with some wonderful days with family, friends and felines. My last post focused on the beautiful town of Inveraray, a place of true peace for me. So, what has happened since?
Mum’s visit included a trip to see the fantastic work of the staff at the Scottish Owl Centre, near Livingston. Such a variety of owls and an opportunity to see some of the cutest and most beautiful animals in the world. From my limp descriptions of the calls I heard late one night at home it would seem that I have at least two tawny owls in the neighbourhood.
A recital reunion of The Trumpet Shall Sound was a superb success with almost 100 in the audience. Other musical exploits continue unabated, a full capacity crowd at the Kelvingrove today enjoying The Lion King, ABBA and Les Mis. More music to come in September with three concerts in the diary.
University is now almost upon me, and I am feeling the full weight of my bold and, perhaps, frivolous decision to step onto a campus after twenty-two years of distance learning. A very beautiful campus it is however interacting with people, real people – not just emails. I mean, I’ll have to shower and get dressed – all that stuff. How scary it all seems. Then, a week away, Freshers…….. Many attend, few survive sober….. Wherever you are, wish me luck!
