And so it begins…

Well, this last week has been the real catalyst for the start of the PhD. The campus is alive with the odour of Lynx, and new University sweatshirts are everywhere. Some are still finding their way, whereas others have been the best of friends since 2pm on Sunday.

No detriment to any of them. We are one University with one goal… the Union bar, oops – no-oo – our education and starting relationships now that will last a lifetime. Remember The Green Mile??

So, my first supervision meeting went very well. My ideas and their ideas met in the middle and formed into a challenge and a way forward. So, here’s to the next six years!

Much editing, v.1, in my second home – the University library. The discontented hum of studying makes a nice backdrop to my own tears and silent screams. Headphones can be deployed if necessary.

Well, there comes a point where sanity begins to crack and something over and above the Sugar Free Irn Bru (commission, please???) is required. The students in here, however, were a little bit more lively.

Now, we move forward. I have my list of necessities, and an upgraded laptop. I’m 14k in, so bring it on (kindly and slowly please, I scare easily).
